Venus, also known as Sukra, is the sixth of the nine navagrahas. Venus rules the natal chart’s second and seventh signs, Taurus and Libra. He rules the stars Bharani, PurvaPhalguni, and Purvashadha.

The planet Venus is associated with material pleasure, family affection, intimacy, ornaments, luxury, comfort, vehicles, sensual satisfaction, passions, a propensity to enjoy pleasure, vitality, affluence, appearance, artistic talents, and the fine arts. Venus symbolizes love and beauty. Sukra represents partner and spouse relationships. Venus controls the reproductive system, face, throat, and kidneys on the body.

There are many possible outcomes of Sukra’s strong placement, including wealth, luxuries, worldly pleasures, gains, good fortune, peace of mind, a strong intellect, a higher position and expertise in art and music, a very good love life and marriage, a deep sense of beauty, harmony, devotion, and sensitivity.

Kanjanur’s Agniswarar Temple

The Hindu temple Agniswarar Temple, located 18 kilometers north-east of Kumbakonam, is located in the village of Kanjanur. While Sukra (Venus) is the temple’s presiding deity, Shiva, the most prominent idol, is the one in the temple’s stomach. According to the Saivite belief that Shiva is all-pervasive, Sukra is said to be in the stomach of the Shiva idol.

There are nine Navagraha temples in Tamil Nadu, part of the popular Navagraha pilgrimage in the state. The temple houses the image of Sukra (Venus).
