History
THIRUNARAIYUR OR Nachiarkoil is well known as one of the 108 Vaishnavite Divyadesams sanctified by Thirumangai Azhwar in 110 verses in his “Periya Thirumozhi” as well as for its Kal (stone) Garuda Sevai. In addition, the island temple at Rameswaram holds two famous Siva temples. One is Siddheswaram, where Lord Siva, known as Siddhanathaswami, is enshrined there while Ramanathaswami is enshwaram.
